AER: Memories of Old Review
Yes, I’m reviewing another FREE game from EPIC Games Store called AER: Memories of Old. When I looked up for FREE games on Epic Games Store, the game shows up and I immediately download it and play it. It is an indie adventure game created by Forgotten Key on October 25, 2017. The game won a couple of awards in 2016 and 2017 and got a very positive review on Steam.
AER is about adventure, exploring floating islands, and search for a temple that has been left by the old civilization. You play as Auk, a shape-shifting girl who can turn into a bird. There’s a lot of story on each island, starting from a ghost telling you stories until a relic with stories in it. The characters in the game are easily forgettable, but the spirit animals are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen.
Flying is one of the reasons you love this game. Flying to a different island, go through the cloud are satisfying. Seeing different colors of the atmosphere, play as a bird, and fly beyond the sky is amazing. But eventually, we cannot fly in the temple where Auk tasks to solve puzzles. The puzzles in the game are pretty explainable, Auk just needs to explore different sections of the temple. It is a relaxing puzzle solving experience for players to enjoy.
The game makes use of low poly as its main attraction. It is amazing to play a low poly video game gets my attention to download this game, where video games these days now utilize a high detail 3D model. It is so relaxing when you glide through the sky with calm & chill music. Every sound of a bird, deer, and other animals can be heard in the distance when flying. It is hypnotized me to fly more around the island than solve the puzzle in the temple.
