Fall Guys Review
Ah yes, another party game that I’ve didn’t expect to release this year. When the quarantine is on the way, 4 August 2020, a game developer from London called Mediatonic, create a battle royale game that is different from any other battle royale out there. The game is inspired by a real-life gameshow like Takeshi’s Castle, Ninja Warrior, and Total Wipeout. The game got some positive reviews from critics, blew up on Twitch, and viral among content creators.
There’re 60 players in the game show and only one of them can get the crown. To get the crown, players must qualify for every three to six randomly selected games. The mini-games involve running towards the finish line, surviving an incoming obstacle, and scoring as a team with another random player. In the end, the last player standing who wins the whole game wins the crown. All mini-games are fun and exciting, but there aren’t a lot of mini-game to play.
The Player will play as a jellybean character who is inspired by a person who wears a large costume in a game show. The color of the jellybean and the mini-games are very colorful and bright, making it a funny and happy vibe. The music in fall guys is very interesting to me because I’ve never heard this type of music before. I cannot find the specific genre for the music but it is stupid and hilarious with some weird sound effects on it.
I have a request for the developer to pump up the number of mini-games. Since it was just launched, I cannot complain about this many mini-games. In more or less than one month the game enters season 2 which is themed medieval. A lot of new mini-games are introduced but I’m afraid that the developer only recycles the current mini-game into a new map. For me, this is the game I’ll spending most of the time while I’m in my free time.
